Best Beach Worst Blogger? Opps!
Travel bloggers are supposed to tell you about the best places to visit right? Well, the truth is out! I have been visiting the best beach in Europe since 2016 and I decided to keep it a secret! All to myself! Only my closest friends and family knew. And now in 2018 it has been confirmed that Praia do Carvoeiro is the ‘Best Beach in Europe’.
When I visited Carvoeiro for the first time in 2016, I fell in love straight away with its ambiance and beauty. The sight of its sandy beach with surrounding golden cliffs, immediately put me in relaxation and dream mode. The refreshing water and tranquil gathering of solos, couples and families gave me a sense of security that I cherished. Everything was so clean, uncomplicated and fun and also very convenient considering that the restaurants and bars are situated on either side, when you walk off the beach to take a break from your swimming and sun-bathing.
And in the night time in the summer months there are even parties on the beach and festivals of music to keep the romantic vibe alive throughout the night. You can soak it all up while dining nearby underneath a canopy.
During that visit in 2016, I decided to keep this little place a secret from my on-line following, I needed that space. And I was conscious too about my security as a solo traveller, as I was not yet acclimatised to be that feeling of being known by the public, some adjustment was necessary.
When summer arrived the following year I had no hesitation about returning to my favourite beach destination. This time I had a different idea in mind, could I organise my life so as to live and work in the Algarve, as close as possible to Carvoeiro?
In the time that has passed since then I have made some good connections and have managed to return for two months during the summer of 2018.
In April 2018, it was announced that Carvoeiro has been awarded the prestigious title of ‘Best European Beach 2018’.
So my secret is out! I wanted to be the one to break the news to you as soon as I got more settled there but it seems others couldn’t wait to tell you.
Just so you are completely in the know, Carvoeiro is a relatively small beach and that is part of its charm. If the beach gets inundated with visitors as a result of this new title, do not worry there are numerous pretty coves in the area awaiting your discovery.
I have decided it is time for me to share more with you about this special Algarve village and surrounding area. If you are interested in holidaying in the Algarve or curious about a lifestyle change in terms of moving to a new location, consider following my blog here or joining me on my dedicated face book page The Algarve Village (Where I’m From).
I also provide services in the Algarve during my stay – take a look via the links provided below and please recommend my services to your friends.
Your support is appreciated!
Have you been Carvoeiro, got any tips for others who are considering a visit?
